HI AGAIN

Hi, I have had the tutorial yesterday, I am going to explote my concept and start with ideas, at the moment I have writen two small briefs to develop between tomorrow and next wednesday. If I am not happy with the stuff I have probably I will change project.
The small project is as follow: Apply 3 existent games in 3 different situations and what kind spaces happen the action in the frame of 3 different stages in life: for example childhood around 10 years old, young around 35, and Old around 65.

To do that you have to study first:

- Think what are the situations, what are the spaces or objects in which the different people uses to use.

- What is funny for the different people in those different life stages, may be can be involved something related with its feeligns and desires they have?, its conditional life style can be involved.
- Make groups that involve the different people, spaces/objects they use to use, the games they like, their physical and psychical needs or understandings of the fun.
- Choose and analize the spaces when this groups of people interact or use more often, research a bit categories of objects and spaces that can be object of interest of this groups of people

I was thinking the last days about which territorie could be under my interest, so I started writing some reflexions down, and I arrived to the write a small brief called "PLAYFUL SPACES IN CRISIS TIMES", crisis times because people close to me is suffering the economic recession.

I developed as well some other structures in relation with the visual boundaries in a public space

I started doing some models from my drawings, one was done with rhino about the waves produced in the water when a drop fall down, the patern produced by this waves as point of inspiration to build up spaces where the user has more freedom, and to breack visual boundaries among them.

TERRITORIES

After the 5000 plus project I was drawing like hell about two concepts, one related with boundaries (overall concentrated in the connexion of buildings and in the transformation and translation of existing games to spaces, to make them more playfull.
The second concept I had was related with the individual and its belonging to a group, and through my drawings I tryed to understand the nature of this connexion overall focused in the phenomenon of the mass in the society. Why people follow people?, why some waves, trends and personalities are contagious and other are not?, what we are looking for when we follow?, that make us more happy?, is this a medium to scape from ourselves?, to feel less isolated in our concrete jungle?.
I did some models of initial thinking about ways to amplify the visual field of the space user. I was thinking in reflection surfaces as a an obvious way to show the viewer what is happening around.

Some of the inspiration to connect the buildings became from the internal circuits in a T.V, that made me remember the structure of the roller coaster.
Through this Idea I wanted to explore not just the spatial boundaries, also the psychological in relation with the feelings the user has when they are exposed to an extreme situation.

Another observation was the perception of people has to use points to entry buildings, they are obligued and forced to use the main point, the main gate, if the user don't use the top floor when they arrive by helicopter, but it just happen in exceptional occasions.

I started doing some models that represented some random interventions to build bridges in different places, for example in channels, as show this sequence of photos, or using some funfair playful systems as the roller coaster, or the hammer.

5000 plus project

I started this small project based in the concept of boundaries, I was drived with the aim to work with spaces and the consequences of the divisions among them.
I went to Greenwich to observe the people bahaviour within some spaces, as for example the stairs, parks and benches, and I had the impression that designers use to design things in order to show people specific things, it can be the person who in front of you or a piece of landscape that can provoque some emotions. It looks that the user is always under control and has visual boundaries.
